Beijing Emperor Group Centre Recognised as a Six-Star Super Grade-A Business Building, Setting a Benchmark for Sustainable, High-Quality Development
2024 Beijing Central Business District (CBD) Summit on Boosting High-Quality Economic Development and Building Economy was recently held in Beijing with the theme "Building Synergies, Fostering Innovation". During the event, the Beijing CBD Administrative Committee officially released the updated "CBD Building Quality Rating Standards 4.0" and awarded star ratings to outstanding business buildings. The iconic Emperor Group Centre, located on Chang'an Avenue, was once again officially recognised as a Six-Star Super Grade-A Building. This marks its third time receiving this honour, following awards in 2018 and 2020. Other recipients of this prestigious accolade include Taikang Financial Tower, Sunshine Financial Center, and China Central Place. The Emperor Group Centre continues to serve as a prime example of high-quality business buildings.
Emperor Group Centre: A Responsible, Warm, and Inspiring Star-Grade Building
As the headquarters of Emperor Group in Mainland China, the Emperor Group Centre is situated in the prime CBD area of Yong'anli along Chang'an Avenue. Its first-tier location assures exceptional regional value. The commercial retail floors feature world-class luxury jewellery and watch brands, trendsetting dining options, and flagship stores of iconic brands, actively supporting Beijing's "first-store economy." Notable examples include the debut of Chef Nic Lab's flagship store, which provides visitors with a comprehensive and multidimensional experience to meet their diverse needs. Thanks to its strong brand appeal, the Emperor Group Centre has cultivated deep collaborations with high-end brands, enhancing both brand value and asset appreciation. It continues to empower consumer brand upgrades in Beijing, delivering innovative entertainment and lifestyle experiences to the residents.
Emperor Group Centre is committed to providing an environmentally friendly and high-quality working environment. It is equipped with advanced air purification systems, including a full VAV (Variable Air Volume) system for office spaces and fan coil units for retail areas, ensuring superior indoor air quality. It also incorporates eco-friendly technologies to treat wastewater for irrigation and actively participates in ecological conservation to achieve water cycle sustainability. The Centre was awarded LEED Gold Certification for Core and Shell by the US Green Building Council during its construction phase. This year, it achieved another milestone by becoming a first-tier building to earn LEED Platinum Certification for Operations and Maintenance, further solidifying its position as a leader in sustainable development.
Emperor Group Centre: Driving Economic, Environmental, and Social Harmony with a Commitment to Green Living
The Emperor Group Centre has integrated smart technology to expand its existing charging infrastructure, promoting green travel and reducing carbon emissions. The third basement level of the Centre's underground car park is now fully equipped with 8 units of 250KW (dual-gun) fast chargers, supporting simultaneous charging for 16 parking spaces. Additionally, 4 units of 600KW superchargers have been installed, capable of charging an electric vehicle from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes, with a 5-minute charge adding 200km of range. These facilities place the Emperor Group Centre among the top tier in Beijing for charging speed, providing electric vehicle users with an efficient and unparalleled charging experience while promoting green mobility in the region.
In line with China's energy-saving and carbon-reduction policies, the Emperor Group Centre has upgraded the lighting systems across the P1-P3 levels of its underground car park to LED eco-friendly lights. This initiative has improved public space brightness and environmental friendliness, significantly reducing energy consumption, lowering maintenance costs, and alleviating the strain on public electricity demand. This summer, the Centre became a pioneer by purchasing 100% “green power” through the National Energy Administration’s Electricity Trading Centre, earning an official Green Electricity Certificate. This achievement ensures full “green power” coverage throughout the building, aligning with the Centre's goal of achieving carbon reduction targets. The use of green electricity not only strengthens Emperor Group's image as a leader in sustainable development but also expedites its transition to a cleaner, low-carbon future. These efforts contribute to China's broader goals of achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
Emperor Group Centre: Actively Supporting Community Building and Fulfilling Corporate Social Responsibility
Each year, the Emperor Group Centre launches various environmental and charity-themed activities, encouraging tenants to participate actively. Volunteer teams from within the building join environmental initiatives such as "Earth Hour" and the "Clean Plate Campaign", encouraging everyone to cherish the planet's resources, embrace sustainable lifestyles, and contribute to environmental protection through small, meaningful actions.
The Centre also plays a leading role in community welfare projects, particularly in assisting the elderly. In 2018 and 2019, the Centre collaborated with Emperor Entertainment artistes and tenants such as Chef Nic Lab to implement elderly care initiatives. These included paying visits to elderly residents during traditional festivals like the Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival, delivering customised gift and warm blessings. During the pandemic, the Centre responded to national calls to support the underprivileged communities by working closely with tenants such as China Energy Engineering Corporation and China Chengtong Asset Management Corporation. Together, they regularly visited the elderly living alone, disabled residents, and those with limited mobility, while also inviting seniors to participate in engaging, interactive activities at the Centre. These efforts have effectively fostered a warm, inclusive community atmosphere, fully demonstrating the "Silver Age Value" by ensuring elderly residents feel supported and connected within the community.
Looking forward, the Emperor Group Centre will continue to move forward with determination, leveraging its position as a model building to strike a balance between social value and commercial success. It remains committed to driving high-quality regional development while advancing green and low-carbon energy transformation initiatives.
