As the 56th World Earth Day approaches on 22 April 2025, the global call to “Cherish Our Planet, Embrace Green Development” resonates louder than ever. Emperor Group Centre, guided by ESG principles, is launching a dual-city green initiative connecting Beijing and Hong Kong — linking landmark buildings from Chang’an Avenue to Hennessy Road through low-carbon commitments and working together toward a zero-carbon future.

Empowering a Low-Carbon Future Through Technology

As a green landmark in Beijing’s CBD, Emperor Group has consistently made sustainability its core driving force, creating a “future workspace” through advanced technology with refined operations. The building has held the prestigious “Six-Star Super Grade-A Building” honour in Beijing’s CBD for three consecutive years and has earned LEED Platinum certification. The entire building features fresh air systems and UV disinfection devices, creating a healthy green office environment. Wastewater treated using environmentally friendly technologies is repurposed for garden irrigation, promoting ecological protection and supporting a sustainable water cycle. Smart technology enhances existing charging facilities, promoting green transportation and energy conservation. The Centre leads by example, purchasing “Green Electricity” through the National Energy Administration’s Electricity Trading Center and obtaining official “Green Electricity Certificates”, achieving 100% green electricity coverage throughout the building.

A Sustainable Closed Loop from Concept to Action

Emperor Group Centre goes beyond hardware upgrades by integrating sustainability into daily operations through diverse initiatives. On 22 March 2025, from 8:30-9:30 PM, the Centre participated in "Earth Hour," turning off non-essential lighting and transforming its normally ravishing facade transformed into an "environmental mirror", silently calling for greater awareness of Earth’s preservation. Through technological empowerment and innovative mechanisms, the city is becoming a “model space” for urban low-carbon practices.
